Fiona is an award-winning journalist and campaigner, focusing mainly on social justice issues. She is We Belong’s comms consultant, and began working with Let us Learn in 2014.
Fiona wrote We Belong's 2019 report, 'Normality is a Luxury', 2020 'Mental Health Check', and most recently our 2022 'Evaluation Campaign Report'. The first two reports are based on interviews of young migrants and highlight the toll taken by Home Office policies. The latest, focuses on a valuation on We Belong's campaign tactics in winning a fairer, shorter, path to settlement for young migrants in the UK.
Fiona also wrote 'Chasing Status: If not British, then what am I?' (LAG, 2014), which first revealed the Home Office failings that would culminate in the 2018 Windrush Scandal.
She is director and co-founder of the consultancy firm Impact - Law for Social Justice; and co-founder of the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year awards.
