We're thrilled to announce our Annual Youth Summit!
Join us on the 29th of October in Manchester for a national gathering of young changemakers, campaigners and activists. This Summit is a special edition that you won't want to miss.
We're celebrating our 3rd anniversary in Manchester and our 5th anniversary as a stand-alone charity! The past five years have been an incredible journey, and we continue to stand strong and pave the way for young activists who want to ignite change, so this year we want to share the stage with many other amazing young people and organisations who've had an impact in their communities and want to share their approach to youth-led activism.
Join us at this Summit for an amazing opportunity to learn from inspiring changemakers across the UK. The event will feature powerful sessions focused on 3 important pillars: Campaigning, Community, and Wellbeing.
Campaigning: Our We Belong team will host workshops on policy and influencing. We'll also host a panel discussion with a diverse group of activists sharing their experiences advocating for change in different spaces, and they'll be available to answer your questions on our main stage.
Community: Our community workshops will involve connecting and showcasing local organisations in the North of the UK that actively support their communities and drive change, offering invaluable insights and practical guidance. You'll be able to network with a community of other young activists and learn how you can get involved in different initiatives.
Wellbeing: An essential aspect of our work is managing our wellbeing, as well as supporting those around us. That's why we've invited practitioners to provide tools and conduct workshops on balancing activism with managing mental and physical wellbeing.
Lastly, we'll have break-out rooms where you can engage with our education partners and youth development team for guidance on accessing higher education and shaping your career.
Stay tuned...and register!
We'll soon be releasing our line-up of speakers! You can look forward to changemakers who are experts in their fields and whose stories are sure to leave us all engaged, revved up and ready to handle the challenges young people face today.
Be sure to save the date, register early, and spread the word on social media! #WBAYS2024.
Food and Drinks will be provided at the event. Travel contributions are available upon request for young people attendees between the ages of 16-25.
