Chrisann is the co-CEO of We Belong, the UK’s first migrant youth-led organisation working to improve individual outcomes for young people, and advocating for systemic change. We Belong builds on the success of a project Chrisann founded in 2014 which focussed on challenging the laws that prevent young migrants from accessing student finance to attend university in the UK.
Whilst studying law at the LSE, she worked with lawyers successfully providing evidence to the Supreme Court that these laws were discriminatory. She has since worked as a Policy Advisor to the Deputy Mayor of London on Social Integration and has spoken at the United Nations on the topic of mainstreaming youth in global migration governance. She has seen first-hand the transformative effect of developing and supporting young people as change agents. In 2020 Chrisann became an Eisenhower Fellowships Youth Leader and Trustee for the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust supporting young people as they work on UNSDG’s.
